What will Starlink satellite Internet connection bring to Armenia?, clarifies the Ministry of High Technology

YEREVAN, JUNE 20, ARMENPRESS. According to the map of the satellite Internet provider Starlink, the Starlink Internet connection will be available in Armenia in 2023.
In response to ARMENPRESS’s question about what it will grant to Armenia, the Ministry of High-tech Industry said that the Starlink satellite Internet connection could be an additional Internet connection and, in some cases, a alternative internet connection for Armenia. It will allow people to use the Internet in remote areas regardless of cable access.
“In view of the fact that the provision of the Internet by satellite is carried out through radio frequencies, certain changes must be made to the table of frequency distributions and several legal acts of Armenia, providing users with ‘Satellite Internet terms of unauthorized use of these frequencies’, the ministry said.
Starlink is a satellite internet constellation operated by SpaceX, providing high-speed, low-latency internet around the world. Within each coverage area, orders are fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis. SpaceX has launched about 2,500 Starlink satellites to support its global network. Starlink provides satellite Internet access coverage to 34 countries.
